Very touching. If I may share a piece that I published yesterday (https://graboyes.substack.com/p/memorial-day-of-time-and-tommy), it was about a big fellow who did small acts of kindness for me when I really needed it 55 years ago. He died a few months later, at 18 years of age, in Vietnam. Reminding people in 2023 that he existed is my small way of saying thanks for decency that he probably didn't even realize was important to me. Your beautiful story is also one of how tiny acts that may matter far more than even you realize.
I found that to be deeply touching. There are so many lost people in the world. It's a wonderful thing when those who are lost can receive the protection and guidance they need. Thanks for sharing.
