Back in the day, I was constantly told that hard things in my life were "the refiner's fire" -- God was heating things up so He could get rid of the undesirable parts of us.

Then one day, I heard a radio preacher give a totally different perspective.

When the refiner heats the fire to super-hot, they're not looking for the dross in the silver, they're actually looking for the silver. The heat shows the value, not the undesirable.

I gotta tell you girlfriend, I'm pretty sure that when God looks at your life and your reactions, He's seeing pure silver. And He's thinking "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

I know it doesn't make the hard things any less hard, but I felt compelled to share it with you <3

Wow...other than the color of my skin, a lot of this is my life! At 69, I still have the tenacity of a bulldog and believe the best is yet to come! I've often said I feel like one of those punching clowns that kids knock over and they pop back up for more. I pray Holy Spirit speak to us and show us what to do.

Thank you for writing.
