If you are like me you are afraid of success. I don't know what to do to make the fear get better except to ignore it and type. Once you get used to a certain success it's no longer success it's a habit and you don't have to be scared anymore.

I believe that when we go through challenges, God is trying to pull us nearer to him. He allows the ‘bad’ so that we see we cannot do it alone. It is God’s will that each of us is where we are at each moment. We must surrender to him. Let go and let God. And when we do so fully we will feel true peace. It’s not easy. Most worthwhile things are very difficult.

Glad to have you back. Praying for you for peace, calm and comfort of the Holy Spirit. For anxiety our chiropractor recommends a Bach floral essence called Rescue Remedy. Another is Hylands Calm. I get both at Sprouts. And I sometimes take both at the same time!

I am a frustrated perfectionist and it has kept me from doing many things. As I look back I remember as a young girl I thought if I didn't make an A I had failed. No one taught me that it was just something in me, but it kept me from trying some very worthwhile things. You may be like me, thinking if you can't do it perfectly you cannot do. I pray you overcome this, you have great things to say, but something is holding you back. I wouldn't say you were afraid of success, I do wonder if you are a frustrated perfectionist because you have actually accomplished so much in you life, yet you are so often in dire straits money wise you feel a failure. Money is good for living a more comfortable life but there are so many whose value to others in life does NOT pay well. I wish and pray you a more comfortable life, but you are a gift to many whether or not you prosper. Is this selfish of me?.

I have appreciated your work and I am sad to hear that there is much going on to hinder your writing. I have some natural suggestions and have been using homeopathy exclusively for several years. There are many remedies for anxiety and sudden fight or flight response. It is likely that your adrenals need a little coddling too. I will start with the first remedy that came to mind and if you have any questions or would like me to recommend others I am happy to engage. :-) Aconitum napellus is great for sudden onset of anxiety (and many other things really) It can be found many places including online and local natural food stores. Bioron makes it in a blue bottle, you may have seen them before. You can start with 30c or perhaps if the fear is strong maybe a 200c to start. I keep remedies on me and just take them as I feel something starting. The beauty of homeopathy is it's just the energetic signature of the thing that was tinctured so the tiny sugar pellets are not only easy to take but if its not the right remedy for you, it just simply won't work. A dear friend had her daughter try aconite and after years of crippling anxiety she is now free from it, obviously there are situations where it returns but she was almost unable to function for a time. Homeopathy is a natural medicine that serves to bring your body to homeostasis by using the principle of like cures like. Potency ironically is actually stronger from greater dilution meaning that the 30c is less diluted and 200c is more. Wishing you the best! I love when Patrick Gunnels reads your articles aloud. Cheers!

Have you heard of bilateral stimulation for anxiety? It's well-researched:

https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C6&q=Bilateral+Stimulation+for+Anxiety&btnG=

Many years ago, in college, I learned how to juggle just as something to do, but found that it had a calming effect and I would juggle as a break from studying for exams. It was only years later that "bilateral stimulation for anxiety" became a thing and I understood the calming effect from juggling was actually reducing my anxiety.

I've relied on juggling ever since as a way to calm myself, reduce anxiety, and develop focus. You don't actually have to juggle, that's just how I did it (but it does make it more interesting.) I've taught this to many people over the years using a spiky massage ball and simply passing the ball from hand to hand, pausing between each pass to squeeze the ball.

Here's one that looks like the ball I use. (Get three and learn how to juggle with them!)

I just dropped a sawbuck in your tip jar. Go get one, chill, and be healed!
